Brief summary of this article:
Existing Test Cases and Test Plans can be linked to a new Test Plan with the goal to re-use them. They can be linked to a new Test Plan on a Board and on a Test Plan view. The same Test Cases and Test Plans can be added to many different Test Plans.
Link and unlink on a Board
To add an existing Test Case or a Test Plan to a Test Plan on a board, follow the steps below:
- Open a Board View where Test Cases or Test Plans are shown as Cards and Test Plans are selected as Lanes. Create the View manually if you don't have one yet.
- Create Test Cases and Test Plans if you don't have them yet.
- Using drag and drop, you can assign an existing Test Case and Test Plans to a Test Plan.
To link the same Test Case or a Test Plan to many Test Plans pick a Test Case or a Test Plan, which you need to link to a different Test Plan, drag it from the Selected Cards panel and drop into a lane representing a target Test Plan.
To unlink a Test Case or a Test Plan from a Test Plan just drag and drop it to the No Test Plans lane.
Link and unlink on a Test Plan view
To link an existing Test Case or a Test Plan to a Test Plan on a Test Plan view open a Test Plan view and click the magnifier icon and select a Test Case or a Test Plan which needs to be linked.
In the list you see all the Test Cases and Test Plans, which are not linked to this Test Plan yet. To unlink a Test Case or a Test Plan from the Test Plan, use the context menu: right click on a Test Case or a Test Plan line and select the Unlink option.
