How to export Test Cases with Test Steps to a CSV file

Test Cases can be exported together with their Test Steps. Just build a view with Test Cases and click ‘Export’ button from ‘Actions’ menu. CSV file with your Test Cases and Test Steps will be generated immediately.

Test Step export and import are compatible, which means that you can edit your exported Test Cases and Test Steps outside Targetprocess and then import them back.

Test cases and test steps are exported with all detailed fields. It is not possible to customize columns in view export. Only first 1000 test cases are exported.

In order to customize your export try to use Tabular Reports which are filtered table-form reports. Find them in Reports → Tabular Reports at the top of the main page.

Custom Report for Test Cases with Test Steps

We will create custom report for test steps and then we'll embed it as an inner list to another report for test cases. Follow the steps below please:

1. Create custom report for Test Step entity. Mark Description, Result and RunOrder columns. Save the report with TestSteps name.
   
2. Create another report for Test Case entity. We recommend to mark Name and Description columns. 
3. Embed a previously created report for test steps into a report for test cases as an Inner List: 
4. Filter the report if needed. It is possible to filter our test cases within some particular Project. Save the report with TestCases name.

Whenever it is needed, run the saved report. It is possible to expand rows in it.

Print the report using Printable View menu option or export it to Excel within CSV file if needed.
