Brief summary of this article:
Multiple charts in Visual Reports for Targetprocess are based on numeric data. This article describes how empty and zero values are displayed on the charts. Format used for CSV export is also specified here.
Source Data
Source Data view displays raw data extracted from the entities. Browse Actions > Browse data > Source data menu item to access it.
Zero values are displayed as 0 in the data grid. For many built-in numeric fields Targetprocess provides zero values as default ones.
Empty, missing, and undefined values are displayed as blank cells in the data grid.
Same rules are applied when you export the Source Data to a CSV file.
Chart Data
Chart Data view displays data used in chart dimensions. Browse Actions > Browse data > Chart data menu item to access it.
Format of numbers displayed on the chart depends on the Group mode selected in axis settings. Same rules are applied when you export the Chart Data to a CSV file or when you select Actions > Export to CSV menu item.
No grouping
In this mode the chart interprets any numeric field value as number. Empty, missing, and undefined values are replaced with zeros.
We perform this transformation in order to display all data on the chart. Otherwise empty data points would be excluded from the chart which could be confusing for viewers.
Intervals grouping
In this mode the chart is able to split empty values from numbers. Data with empty, missing, and undefined values are displayed under a separate No Value group.
