Sometimes you have boards with many empty rows and columns. For example, some people have no assigned tasks or user stories or there are no any tasks and user stories in some workflow state. You may want to hide empty lanes to make your board view more compact.
To hide all empty lanes with a single click, find a corresponding button in the Actions menu and press it:
Here is how the board looks like when they are hidden:
When empty lanes are hidden then special indicator is displayed in the top right corner of the board header. Click on it to show empty lanes back.
Hide empty lanes button is available in List and Roadmap views as well. It works the same way as in Boards.
Empty lanes state ("visible" or "hidden") for a view is personal preference. Initial setting is "visible". Users hide empty lanes per view. Administrators can neither override the setting for other viewers nor set default state as "hidden".
Hide empty lanes button is available for list views since v3.13.18.50189 release.
Try to use Filters for rows and columns when Hide empty lanes button does not work the exact way you need.
Hide empty lanes issue with boards having multiple pages has been fixed in Targetprocess v3.12.8+.
